The Japan Association of National Universities (JANU) participated in the “2024 International Forum on Higher Education” organized by the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) on October 13, 2024, in Beijing. Nasu Yasutomo, President of Okayama University and a member of the international exchange committee of JANU, made a presentation titled “Innovative Talent Development at National Universities in Japan.” President Nasu presented the overview of Japan’s national universities, the science and technology policies in Japan, and focused on the initiatives undertaken by national universities.

　This forum, hosted annually by CAHE since 2001, invites representatives from overseas higher education professionals to interact with presidents and researchers from China’s top universities. This year’s forum theme is “Science and Technological Innovation and Sustainable Development,” attracting approximately 500 participants from more than 30 countries and regions for presentations and discussions.
